Formula and example
The cost of a bonus depends on the share of players who complete the wagering requirement: in normal play, some of them lose their balance before that. A low-risk bet removes the variance, and almost everyone makes it to the end.
Which bets count as low-risk
- Opposite outcomes in one round: red and black, odd and even, 1-18 and 19-36 in roulette, player and banker in baccarat.
- Almost the whole table: for example, more than 24 of the 37 roulette numbers on one spin.
- Every outcome of an event: home, draw and away, or over and under on a total, on one account or on linked ones. A set like this costs the player only the margin.
- Near-certain outcomes: odds below the minimum, for example 1.05.
If the other side is placed with another bookmaker, you cannot see it: that is arbitrage betting with bonus money.
How to detect it
While a bonus is active, the platform automatically checks every bet against this list, including bets from linked accounts. Another sign: high turnover with a balance that barely moves.
How to word it in the terms
"Irregular play" with no definition is something a player cannot check. The bonus policy lists the bets, the threshold, for example more than 24 numbers or odds below 1.50, and the consequence: such a bet does not count towards wagering or is not accepted while the bonus is active. Breaking a written clause is bonus abuse, while without the clause it is play within the rules. Roulette and table games are also protected by game weighting.
Common mistakes
- Treating any bet on red as low-risk. A single bet like that loses more often than it wins: that is ordinary risk. Low risk comes only from covering opposite outcomes or almost the whole table.
- Voiding winnings after the fact. If the bet could have been rejected or left out of wagering, a review after a big win looks like a hunt for an excuse not to pay.
- A rule but no check. Without a check when the bet is accepted, the breach is found only at withdrawal, when the player already sees the money as theirs.
