What it is for
- Attribution: an influencer, a streamer or an offline event where there is no tracking link. The code shows whose player it is.
- An exclusive affiliate offer: better terms than standard, only for that affiliate's audience.
- A targeted campaign: a code in an email to one segment, so the offer does not reach everyone.
What limits to set
- One code per account, address and device.
- An expiry date and a cap on redemptions.
- A segment: new players, a specific country or players from a mailing.
- All bonus terms: deposit, wagering, expiry, max cashout.
Common mistakes
- One shared code with no limits. It ends up on bonus hunter forums, and the offer reaches the wrong audience.
- A code without tracking. A month later nobody can tell which affiliate or campaign brought the players.
- No expiry. Old codes keep working for years on terms that stopped being profitable long ago.
How to measure
Each code gets its own report: redemptions, first and second deposits, NGR and bonus cost for players with that code. An influencer code with a hundred redemptions and no second deposits costs more than a code with twenty redemptions after which players stay. The code also helps with attribution when there is no link.
