Formula and example
Bonus = deposit x percentage, but no more than the cap100% up to €200: a €150 deposit gives a €150 bonus, a €300 deposit gives a €200 bonus.
Minimum and maximum deposit
The minimum cuts off token deposits made just for the bonus. The maximum keeps the cost in check: without it, a large deposit gets a bonus on the full amount, and the cost of the offer grows faster than the revenue it brings. State both limits in every bonus.
What percentage to give
- New players: more generous, since this is their way into the product. Usually 100% on the first deposit.
- Active players who deposit on their own: a personal bonus is usually not needed. Give them tournaments, missions and cashback.
- Bringing players back from churn: their previous terms, with a smaller deposit. Odd percentages like 111% stand out more in the inbox.
Common mistakes
- Raising the deposit for a churned player. Their finances over that time are unknown, and a high bar gets in the way of coming back.
- Not stating the wagering base. On the bonus, or on the deposit plus the bonus: for the player, the difference is twofold.
- Looking at the percentage, not the cost. 50% with low wagering can cost more than 100% with high wagering. Compare them in the calculator.
