Turnkey casino: a ready-made platform on your own licence

Turnkey casino (turnkey solution) is a ready-made package for launching on your own licence: the platform, games through an aggregator, connected payments, and often licensing help and customer support. The start is fast, but you pay the platform a share of GGR or a monthly fee, and CRM is limited to what the platform can do.

What is included

The supplier provides a platform with player accounts, a wallet, a bonus engine and a back office, games through its own or a partner aggregator, a cashier with connected PSPs and a site template, and often anti-fraud and KYC services. For an extra fee, some suppliers also handle support, payment operations or odds trading for the sportsbook.

The operator obtains the licence in its own name, often with the supplier's help. Contracts with PSPs are usually in its name too. The operator brings the brand, traffic, CRM and VIP.

The upside of a turnkey solution is speed, the downside is dependence: the platform's timelines for changes, its prices and its outages become yours. A common path: a white label to start, then your own licence on a turnkey platform, and in-house development once volume pays for the team.

What it costs

It is usually a launch fee plus a percentage of GGR or NGR, or a fixed monthly fee, often with a minimum payment.

Platform fee = rate x GGR, but not less than the minimumFor example, a 10% rate with a €10,000 monthly minimum. At €60,000 GGR you pay the €10,000 minimum, almost 17% of GGR. At €200,000 GGR you pay €20,000, exactly 10%.

Game provider, aggregator and PSP fees are often separate line items. Check what the rate includes.

Common mistakes

  • Not checking CRM before signing. Real-time events, bonus issuing via API and data access determine which triggers and offers you can run. Custom work for you usually waits in the platform's own queue.
  • Not counting the minimum payment. In the first months, with low GGR, the minimum turns 10% into 17% or more.
  • No exit plan. Put in writing that the player database is yours and in what form it will be handed over: accounts, balances, transaction and bonus history. Otherwise a move to another platform starts from scratch.
