How it works
The player picks a period and an amount, for example no more than €200 a week. Once the limit is reached, the cashier does not accept deposits until the next period starts. The player sets the limit in their account on their own, without contacting support.
The pause protects against an emotional decision: the urge to raise the limit comes right after a loss.
Where limits are mandatory
This is set by the licence. In some markets the player sets a limit at registration or explicitly opts out, and in some there is also a general limit set by the regulator. Alongside it there are usually loss, bet and session time limits, which follow the same principle. All of them are part of the responsible gambling toolkit.
Limits in CRM and VIP
- No bonuses for a player with a limit. The exclusion is checked automatically before every send, in every channel.
- Never ask to raise the limit. A VIP manager does not suggest raising or removing a limit, even to the most valuable player.
- Repeated requests to raise the limit are a signal. They trigger an affordability check.
- It is not churn. Lower deposits after a limit are the player's decision. Such a player is not counted as churn and is not reactivated.
Common mistakes
- Increases with no waiting period. The limit is raised on emotion after a loss, and the tool stops protecting the player.
- A limit on one method only. If cards are limited but crypto is not, the limit is easy to get around. Apply it across all payment methods.
- CRM cannot see the limit. The platform stores the limit, but the messaging system does not know about it. The limit flag must reach every audience selection.
