Player lifecycle: the CRM goal at every stage

Player lifecycle (player journey) is the path from registration to VIP status or leaving: first deposit, second deposit, habit, churn risk, churn and return. At each stage CRM has its own goal, its own metrics and its own offers.

Stages and goals

StageGoalWhat works
Registered, no depositget to a first deposithelp with payment, a welcome offer, a reminder in the first hours
First depositget to a second onea reason to return in the first 2-3 days, visible progress
Activeretain without extra bonusestournaments, missions, cashback, new releases from favourite providers
Churn riskcatch the broken rhythma message the same day, a game picked for the player
Churnedwin back cheaplyprevious terms and a smaller deposit, time to activate

A value track runs in parallel: future VIPs are visible as early as the first week, and a manager takes them on.

Stage metrics

  • Entry: registration to first deposit conversion within 24 hours, 7 and 30 days.
  • Consolidation: second deposit rate.
  • Habit: retention by cohort.
  • Return: the share of players back from churn against a control group.

Common mistakes

  • One mailing to the whole base. A newcomer and a churned player need different messages and offers.
  • A bonus at every stage. An active player who deposits on their own does not need a personal bonus.
  • The stage is not recalculated. Players move between stages within days, so segments are refreshed every day.
  • No exclusions. Self-exclusion, limits and risk signals take the player out of all marketing flows.
