Which balance is used first
| Setup | How it works |
|---|---|
| Real money first | bets come out of real money, and the bonus kicks in once it runs out |
| Combined balance | real and bonus money together, the whole balance is under wagering |
The first setup is a non-sticky bonus: winnings on real money can be withdrawn without wagering. The second is closer to a sticky bonus. The setup is stated in the terms of every bonus.
When a bonus becomes real money
Once the wagering requirement is met, the bonus balance moves to the real balance, subject to the max cashout if there is one. If the player withdraws before wagering is complete, the bonus is usually forfeited. Show this rule in the withdrawal window, not only in the terms.
Bonus balance in reports
Separate bonus-money bets from real-money bets in GGR, hold and rewards. Otherwise bonus wagering looks like turnover growth, and the bonus cost gets lost inside revenue.
Common mistakes
- The player cannot see two balances. One number in the header, and at withdrawal half the money turns out to be bonus money.
- The spending order is not described. A dispute over a forfeited bonus starts with an unclear setup.
