What earns a tier
- Points for bets: for example, 1 point for every €10 of real-money turnover.
- Value over a period: NGR or theoretical win over 30 or 90 days.
Points are easier to explain to the player. Value is more accurate for the casino: it does not reward play on low-margin games on a par with slots. The two are often combined: the player sees points, while value counts for moves to the top tiers.
What a tier gives
| Tier | Example terms |
|---|---|
| Entry tiers | a level-up bonus, small cashback |
| Middle tiers | higher cashback or rakeback, faster withdrawals |
| Top tiers | a personal manager, higher limits, gifts and events |
Downgrades
Tiers are reviewed over a period: if the player stops playing, they move down. Do it gently: a warning in advance and a grace period to keep the status. An abrupt downgrade of a VIP player looks like a punishment and speeds up churn.
Common mistakes
- The first new tier is too far away. The player should reach it in the first weeks, otherwise the tier ladder does not motivate.
- Progress is not visible. The progress bar to the next tier should be in the player account and in emails.
- Rewards are not counted. All tier bonuses are part of Bonus Rate.
